Solar Festival grant application a success!

We are very excited to announce that the Whatcom County Community Foundation awarded Resilient Point Roberts Going Solar through our partner the Friends of Point Roberts Library a grant in the amount of $5,000 to support fun, educational and community engaging activities to support solar energy awareness. A big thanks to all of the members who attended our last meeting and helped brainstorm and shape our approach to the grant.

The Neighborly Grant is for people with great ideas of how we can all become better neighbors by connecting people who would not normally come together. Our hope is that Point Roberts Solar Festival and companion workshops will help to include everyone our solar education process, as we learn together about new ways to bring the benefits of solar to the community.

We are grateful to the Friends of Point Roberts Library for their support and sponsorship of our application, and to the Resilience Fund of the Whatcom Community Foundation for this opportunity to celebrate the possibilities of energy independence and community resilience. Another step forward, we are on our way!
